Digital Citizenship
Digital citizenship is the responsible use of technology to learn,
create, and participate.
Children are growing up with the power of digital media and technology to explore, connect, create, and learn in new
ways. With this power, young people have great opportunities, but they also face challenges and dilemmas. The purpose of our digital citizenship unit is to ensure students are empowered to use technology responsibly, with the ability to self-evaluate and self-regulate their use as well as to empower our students on how to report when something makes them feel unsafe online.
Our units require students to reflect:
- Are we using technology responsibly?
- Are we using technology to deepen learning?
- Are we using technology to benefit ourselves or others?
Our approach: Rings of Responsibility
A framework that helps us think about responsibilities to our self, our community, and the world.
